iLok Driver Installer wont install
 

Just got windows 8 Pro and everything is going fine till I try to install iLok Driver Installer (DriverSetup.exe)
The file opens then just sits there with the bar filling up over and over again.
it's installing required Microsoft dlls and never finishes.
On the Ilok site windows 8 is supported.
What can I do?

Ok uninstalled everything that has to do with pro tools reinstalled only pro tools and now getting "Could not allocate memory for the disk cache. Tyr lowering your disk buffer (DAE Buffer) disk cache size or engine voice count. If you got this error on launch, delete your prefs and try again. (-9514)"
Did that now I get "DAE Error -13001 was encountered"
Crazy!!!!!!
Found the fix is to run pro tools as admin that gives me the delete your prefs error or the -13001.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this sucks.

Hi,

for transmitting your string to your iLok you´ll need always an old system ...
I made this experience two weeks ago.
Pace iLok is just running for installing strings on 32-bit systems.


When your string is at your iLok you can use other OS´s

Avid has not qualified and, at the moment, does not support Windows 8 as an OS for Pro Tools.

If that's the case you think installing a Virtual Machine(VMware I believe) program and run say win xp in it then get PT 10 up and running exit xp vm. Reboot win 8 and maybe just maybe PT will work in win 8? Ooooo I'm exited :)

VM is slow.
If this wont work ill have to install win 7 on diff drive and use it for PT only till win 8 update happens.

Pro Tools runs best without other apps installed on the same OS anyway. So this is probably a good idea.

Solution
 

Just went through the same thing, after some hours on the internet i found a solution.

First uninstall all ilok software that you have on your computer. And take ilok out of your usb.

Install this first Tpkdx64Setup

Reboot

Install this LicenseSupportSetup64

Insert ilok and enjoy!

Found the fix. :D
In....
Pro_Tools_10_3_2_Installer_77970\Pro Tools\Pro Tools Installer
run setup with win 7 compatibility and as admin :cool:

That's it works and i'm up and rock and rolling.
