Re: Pro Tools 10 on Windows 8??
I can't imagine Avid isn't testing and wants it to work by the time Windoze 8 is released. The thing is that testing all of the functions in ProTools isn't exactly a trivial task.
When digi/Avid finally supports a new OS it has historically been a lot more solid than most other DAWs. |
Re: Pro Tools 10 on Windows 8??
I have just started using windows 8 on my new machine seems great I think they have a winner here ..
The new menu ( tiles ) at first was a little scary ... but after a day or so they are really functional and is very easy to use ... love them .... anyways I tried to install Pro tools 10.2 and surprise surprise Pro tools will not install ... I received two error 1. The name of my drive was too long more than 11 letters it was "System Reserved" so I changed it to "SysReserved" it then let me install it. 2. After the installation I tried to run it then I received this error "DAE error - 13001 was encountered " Can't wait for the fix ... does anyone know when it's expected ? |

Re: Pro Tools 10 on Windows 8??
I did the upgrade into a Windows 7 install that I used for testing. Pro Tools was already installed and I absolutely had no problem. It ran without needing a re-install. Windows 8 seems to have smoother, tighter graphics using Quadra 600.
