Correcting Files that are playing at 2X Speed
 

I NEED HELP. I received files to mix at 96K/32 bit float. When I open a session with those specs, the files are playing at double speed. Even when I open the files in iTunes they are playing at warp speed. So they were certainly exported incorrectly. How do I force these files to be played back at normal speed?

If they’re exactly 2x speed and pitch, then the actual sample rate is 48 instead of 96. Create a new session at 48 and import the audio without sample rate converting, or when importing into a 96 session turn on sample rate conversion and manually change the source rate to 48.
