Default Eleven Rack starts to Ramp up the Volume at random times

Evidently, Avid offers absolutely zero support on their website for the Eleven Rack which is interesting since its their name on the thing. So I will hold out hope that someone out there who bought one of these things can help.

I've noticed that in the last few days, my Eleven Rack starts to Ramp up the Volume at random times. I run my guitar into the ER and out into some studio monitors..I can be playing and all of a sudden, it gets louder and the SAVE button turns red, as if I had made an adjustment to the preset (which I haven't). Has anyone else experienced this by chance?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using this with Pro Tools or another DAW and perhaps you have some automation written on one track?

Do you have a foot controller connected and perhaps is it sending in CC messages for some reason?

If you have none of that, then you can check how you have your knobs set to react. Yes, I and many others have seen this behavior from time to time where you will not make a change, but maybe the knob is sitting in just the right position and for what ever reason, maybe the tiniest of a breeze blows in, and that's just enough for the knob to move and make the change. Or it's a random thing where the knob all the sudden makes the required "connection" and the parameters change.

If that is the case, you could try adjusting the knobs to more closely match the parameters of the current preset. Or, the better solution IMO, change how the knobs react. Try changing the action to LATCH.

I believe I show that in this video from 5 years ago

Basically, hold edit/back, go to Knob Display/Action, and change to Latch.

My Eleven Rack randomly changes parameters (connected to a computer or not!) and the display gets garbled sometimes.

Now I have noticed that some of the knobs won't change parameters. I have tried cleaning the encoders, reseated all of the cables inside but nothing will fix it. If I am in Tuner mode the pitch ref (440) will change by itself too.

I just use it as a glorified sound card for my computer now.
