I'm tired, I've spent a day off doing a new install of everything from os 10.9.4 to all plugs, new drive, imac i7, thunderbolt omni/native setup ,all troubleshooting in an attempt to get a smooth running session. EDIT: having gone from similar problems on 10.8.5 and other versions...
Are other professionals out there doing PT sessions, audio and VI, 30 tracks for example, where you expect to have a -9173 error every time you insert a (3rd party) plug on a playing session bringing all to a halt with error message? Really at wits end with every cent i've spent on my whole setup and aax rebuying etc etc etc .... |

Trashed prefs? Repaired permissions? Any chance to roll back to 10.8.4? Bob |

Just upgraded to 11.2.1 and having the same issue. Had it in 11.2 NOT in 11.1.3. Very frustrating.

And it is only when I try to bounce in real time. No issues during recording, playback, etc.

Have you been able to test to see if it could be plug-in related?
Such as removing all third-party plug-ins from your plug-ins folder and seeing if there is any difference. If yes, then adding your plug-ins back a few at a time until you are able to narrow down anything specific. I'm not suggesting it is not a Pro Tools issue, but I would start with checking for any problem plug-ins to see if that is a factor. |

Hi Bruce - you have saved my bacon before so let's troubleshoot! Yes, I have done the third party removal. However, I am going to - on a hunch I guess - remove all plug ins and try from scratch.

Ok. Did that. Took all of them out. Nothing but what 11.2.1 put in. Got the AAE-9173. Hmmm

For those having issues are you trying to insert a plugin while the session is playing? I have had this happen from time to time depending on the plugin being inserted but it's rare; happens when trying to insert a reverb or a plugin that does look-ahead processing. So I learned to stop the transport and then insert whatever plugin.

Did this ever get resolved. I get it during real-time bounces, even bouncing only 2 tracks. Everything is updated to the latest versions here. Not running Yosemite yet.
