Re: plosive removal
Well, if you want to do it the hard way, snip out copies of the plosives to a new track and invert the phase.
Poof, plosive eliminated. A little EQ and plosives 'managed'. This has been discussed at length in previous threads on the DUC. |

Re: plosive removal
i agree with trakbytes, i have never gotten a de-esser to work on a P-losive.
to add another idea: slice the region just befor the offending "P" or "B" and do a quick ramp fade. that in combo with a hi-pass set above 90 (80, 100, 110, wherever) usually does the trick. in a horses have already left the barn comment, i'd say pull your pop screen back form the mic diapraghm a bit and carefully watch that talent doesn' push back in. i have seen voice talent come in a nd push the screen closer. and i ask them to move it back where it was. then i make sure that the mic and screen are out their way and they move the script stand where they need it. best pop screen i know of is the STEDMAN. they work great, but the early models scratch your mic stand arm wherer they attach. i think theyt have sinced fixed this. AND they are washable.

Re: plosive removal
I've been known to edit out the plosive part, leaving the beginning and end of the "p" sound, closing up the space and putting in a short crossfade. it's time consuming, but works a lot of the time. You can definitely see the offensive part of the waveform.

Re: plosive removal
(Bob said basically the same above. I should read before typing )
My fave is a high pass audiosuite filter with handles (100 Hz to as high as 250 Hz, 185 Hz is my default) tweak crossfades to taste. If I have lots of time (and budget) and several takes for each pass, I will grab matching non-popped consonants and replace. Tedius, yes, but yields the very best results with solid editing. Re: plosive removal
Use a Waves C1 or C4. Start with one of the bass compressor presets and tweak from there. Wave Arts has a great plugin also. Wave Arts MultiDynamics Plug-In
