Default Vintage Synth Plugins for PT 9 Mac OS 10.6x

Folks,

I just upgraded from 7.3 where i used to enjoy Arturia's Analog Factory for basic vintage synth sounds. Their plugins apparently have issues in PT9 for the Mac. What are the other options out there? I like moog, arp, prophet etc. Basically Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter/Allan Howarth type sounds & really enjoy the sequencing aspect of these artists.

**Also need to have some sort of sequencing abilities too.

Thanks!

Not yet. I started playing with all the plugins that comes with PT9. Xpand, Hybrid, Structure, Velvet etc. In some of them there's so many presets and they're not labeled in such an intuitive way to know if i'm getting a vintage moog, prophet, arp, korg etc. I wish it was labelled in such a way. However, i still need to give it more time. What i like about the Arturia plugins eg. Factory or Laboratory, is that they're very plug and play and have labels that allow you to choose out of 1000s with a high degree of approximation of what you have in your head. I just wish they'd get their bugs fixed for PT9 on the Mac.

Do you know which sets in Hybrid most approximate the vintage synths?

It will be a plug-in, just with a dedicated controller.

filosofem - i noticed you've used arturia products before. do you know if the arp 2600v and the moog modular v work on PT9? i can't find this anywhere. i've only heard of laboratory and factory having issues w. PT9.

as far as I can say I would not recommend any arturia product. they seem to be unable to produce bugfree plugins. they have a bad reputation and there is a reason for it. I strongly recommend GForce. what they do is rock solid and their stuff sounds amazing. And the avid stuff is brilliant too... I have to say everything the AIR group from avid produced is high quality. and check out native instruments. they are fantastic too.

MMV 2.5 works. ARP I do not own but saw one on ebay for USD $7,500.
