Default Quick question for 11R with PT11

Hey guys,

Just recently I finally upgraded my Windows 7 PC from PT10 to PT11 and I have noticed something that I'm sure is a simple adjustment that I am missing. I'm guessing that it has been covered before, but I cannot find any reference to it, so my question is...

When I am using the 11R in a PT11 session, even when I do not have a track armed, I am still getting sound from the 11R thru my monitors. I noticed this at first right after I finished recording a guitar track thru the 11R...I then unplugged the guitar but left the cable plugged into the TrueZ input and would notice an occasional static "pop" just like you would hear as if you unplugged the guitar from a live amp.

I tried Alt+K to see if I could toggle the input monitoring setting off like I could in previous versions of Pro Tools, but that is not working. It is almost as if I have 2 audio sources going thru the monitors at the same time. So when I am doing something with a track that isnt using the 11R at that moment (say a drum track), I still get the audio from the 11R and that gets distracting.

And no, this does NOT happen when I open up a Pro Tools 10 session....

Anyone know what the solution is?

Thanks...

.

You do have two audio sources.. the internal monitoring path in the Eleven Rack (that works in stand-alone mode and that Pro Tools normally disables) and the monitoring path through Pro tools.

This I am guessing is either a driver or hardware problem in the Eleven Rack that some users have reported here before.

About all you can try to do is reisntall the driver. Maybe try a memory reset in the Eleven Rack (will erase all rigs). I'm not sure I've ever seen anybody here post a confirmed fix for this problem.

Well, the 11R is the only audio source connected to the computer. I guess I could try uninstalling/re-installing any 11R drivers to see if that corrects the problem.

I thought it was something simple that I was overlooking as it's like what you alluded to, that Pro Tools is not disabling the audio from the 11R.

Thanks for the reply Darryl!

I DID notice though that when I play the session, the audio from the 11R DOES shut off during playback...so it is not on full time....
