Trying to decide on upgrade to PT9...
I've got PTLE 8, an 002R, FW-1884, MPT2, PT8 3rd party content, Ignition Pack 2 Pro, and Producer Factory Pro. Everything current versions.
If I cross-upgrade to PT9, how much of this gear becomes superflous/useless/irrelevant? I want to upgrade, but I'm not sure what PT9 buys me at this point. Any help is surely appreciated. Bob Simpson |

Re: Trying to decide on upgrade to PT9...
Actually, just about all of it should work. In fact, your Tascam should now be able to be the interface all by itself, without having to partner with the 002.
Virtually all of the Ignition Pack stuff still works, and most 3rd party stuff is working fine. Your Music Toolkit will be worthless, but all of the functionality of it is now built in to PT9, plus way more. However, all the other plugins and instruments that came with it will still work. For the basic Music Toolkit Ilok license, you can either sell it to someone who's staying in PT8, or you can use it to upgrade to the new Complete Toolkit 2 for $400 off. Here's the updated plugin compatibility chart, to make sure you have everything up to date: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=343311 |
