LE not responding after Windows updates
Hi, first of all, I'm still living in the dark ages on my 001 which is running 5.3.1. I downloaded a lot of Windows Updates over the weekend and when I started up this morning Pro Tools just hangs. It will open ProTools, but never loads the splash screen that shows plugs and DAE loading. I have to close it through task manager. It just loads the screen with the digi logo tiled across the back, with "help" being the only menu, but PT freezes before I can get to the menu (not that it would help, oh the irony). I would think that that would have to be the problem because I updated Windows this week (which was several months worth of downloads as this computer is never near an internet connection).
I'm curious if the new windows updates might have changed any settings that would interfere with ProTools, or if it's because I'm still running 5.3.1. Anyone know how to get the upgrade to 6.1? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. BTW, I have tried a system restore from before the win updates and it does the exact same thing. Anyone got any suggestions? gym |

I failed to mention that my system is a PIII 800 with 764mb RAM, and it has been working flawlessly for several years, until now.

I had this problem also (although about a year ago or so). I just uninstalled and reinstalled PTLE and that fixed it. It's worth a shot anyway. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll try that. Anyone have any idea where to get the 5.3 to 6.1 upgrade? I didn't see it at digistore or in the download section.
