Default Weird error message on MIDI import

When attempting to import multiple MIDI regions (from Stylus RMX) into the MIDI regions list I get the following message:

assertion in Sys_FileLoc.cpp, line 195

Nothing imports into the regions list. However, I can successfully import one file at a time. Any answers?

Thanks....

No, it's not an exciting problem and, unfortunately, there is very little info on what could cause this.

Does this ONLY happen with MIDI files from Stylus RMX or does it happen with others as well?

We're going to try to test this some time today to see if we get the same result.

Ray - How, exactly, are you importing these MIDI files? Thru the MIDI regions bin or from "Import MIDI to Track" or some other method?

Hi Ray & Digi Tech support

yes, I have exactly the same message. It occurs if I try to import more than one MIDI file at a time into the MIDI regions list e.g alt+apple key +i, or import MIDI from MIDI regions menu

Ray, I guess you are dragging the MIDI files from Stylus onto your desktop and then importing them. I do the same and I assume that you just have to import one at a time which is kind of a pain.... What do you say Digi? How about drag and drop in PT 7?

I have only tried importing Stylus RMX files... virtually all of my MIDI work is done within PT except for this one item which must be imported.... as you know, the current version of PT does not support drag n drop.

Thanks for your response and I hope you come up with something... ! !

I drag the files from the appropriate Stylus RMX window onto a folder on the desktop labled "XXXX MIDI files" (where XXXX is the name of the tune)... then I place the folder into the file session folder for housekeeping purposes. I import from from the MIDI REGIONS BIN. I have also imported from the desktop and experienced the same problems.

(Sorry, I failed to add the capitalized info, as you requested, when I originally responded)

Hi Peter, yes a royal pain when you are constructing a drum track and have lots of files to import... I hope Digi can address this... best wishes...
