The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
Hello, I'm configuring my hardware on a new (for me) Mac Pro. I'm running PT version 9.0.3, OSX 10.6.8. I moved the Accel3 cards from the old Mac Pro to the new Mac Pro- installing them in the same slots, etc.. everything the same but I keep getting the message "The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly..." when I try to launch Pro Tools.
I put the cards back in the old Mac and PT opens, no problem. The flex cables are correct (port B on core card to port A on adjacent card). I tried switching them anyway but get the same massage either way. Any help troubleshooting much appreciated! Joe |

Re: The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
When I updated to 10.6.8 I had some problems gettin HD 9. somthing to work as well. I dont know what the problem was but does your old MAC have OSX 10.6.8 I dont think HD9 was ever officialy qualified for 10.6.8 HD10 is though. I must say it is a great program worth the investment if you are a professional studio with clients I never did manage to get 9.5 or 9.6 to work so I just stayed with 9.0 Im not that great with stuff like this though

Re: The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
Thank-you for the comment. I was running an earlier version of Mac OS on the other computer. If I don't put the TDM cards in the new Mac it will open PT9 LE so it seems compatible that way at least.
update: the official compatibility from AVID: Mac Systems: * System Software: Snow Leopard: Mac OS X 10.6.2, 10.6.3, 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, 10.6.7, or 10.6.8 (32 or 64-bit) o Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the supplemental update "10.6.8v1.1" is officially qualified with Pro Tools 9.0.3 and 9.0.5 o Pro Tools 9.0 and 9.0.1 not tested with 10.6.7 and higher[/I][/I] |

Re: The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
Hello DetroitT-
the "old" Mac is a 2 x 2 Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon — 5 GB memory. NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT Graphics Card in slot 1 the "new" Mac is a 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon — 8 GB memory. Radeon HD 2600 Graphics Card in slot 1 I insert the HD3 Accel cards in the same order: Core Card in slot 2, Accel cards in slots 3 and 4. The core card does not show up in the System Profiler or the Digitest on the "new" Mac. I tried putting the cards into a nearly identical Mac Pro with the same result... core card does not show up. I think I'll try a new thread/ topic about this issue. |

Re: The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
Try the Core farthest from the video (Slot-4). So long as your flex B (Core)> to A (Accel-1) B>A(Accel-2) as you described in your first post.
Or the more tedious way is to 1st try only the core in slot 4 then add the accel cards. |

Re: The TDM Flex Cable is not connected correctly...
Thanks DetroitT,,, I tried the Accel Core PCIe card by itself in slot 4 with no luck. There is an update to the cards as described here. I'm contacting Digi to see if this applies to my cards/ Mac Pro issue.
