Default Anyone know where to get masters to practice mixing?

Hi

I got a few tracks recently by NIN that really inspired me to remx in Pro Tools, of course these tracks where arranged by the band and given out specifically to people Trent (the singer) agreed to.

Also to mention NIN has given various tracks out in the past for re mixes, and i was wondering if people here knew of a site that shared tracks more less like that, with no strings attached.

Like cover songs, ideas for mixing etc.

My question is; Is there anything out there on the net where people can share tracks to practice mixing, remixing etc?

Thanks

I have some tracks up on www.mixkits.com .

I'll put any tracks off of my LP released in June, Scythe, if you want. More info on MixKits.

Cool, many thanks

I came accross some forum type site where people shared tracks as well but can not find the link now., they included cover songs to various TV Spots as well.

I will keep looking to see if i can find it again

Cheers

Of course, you could download a bunch of MID files of Christmas music...they're all over the net and ALL of them need re-mixing!! I downloaded one of White Christmas just to see how well I could a)get up and running in PT (no problem there), b)figure out which of the 14 tracks was supposed to be which part (that'll take some more work...but we're getting there) and then c)re-voice, re-mix, edit, arrange, etc from there.
All for practice and fun of course.

I thought it would be a fun experiment for several PT users to take the same MID file and each do their own re-mix and see how each comes out.

i was just talking to a friend who has access to a site where you can download very close to the exact tracks of cover songs, he also got a master of several pink floyed songs done in pro Tools TDM, as well as The Rolling Stones and Ozzy Osbourne.

I am sure there are karaoke tracks you can also buy with the midi files to separate the music track by track, i just thought by now that there is a open community like this with people contributing to masters for remixing, vocalists or even dj's etc.
