If we review Pro Tools last 4 years development, I believed they spent 80% in post industry. 20% in music (which is mostly bugs fix). Something like ARA2 may take 4 more years to happen.

agree?

1.) No more subscriptions. Period.
2.) Bug fixes are free, after all, they're bugs.
3.) You pay for major releases with a version dependent discount. Competitively priced.
4.) Pro Tools is now ONE, ALL INCLUSIVE VERSION - no vanilla/Ultimate BS.
5.) You can install 1 license on up to 5 computers (like Studio One).

Until Avid has the balls to service all customers, not just the cash rich, there is no hope.

What a bout a new look/s? im so tired of the tiny fonts i cant read etc, dim little grey lines i gotta squint to see, unless the monitor is cranking out gamma rays....there could be levels of options for colors (NON 2001 VISTA!!!), fresh skins .....etc.....i realize they want familiarity , but its 2020...

I did mean possibly one day implemented realistic FR's.

Agreed. I wouldn't hold my breath on ever getting a new feature that wasn't desired by the post and/or live sound community.

I am just curious what people are trying to use them for and having issues with.

we use it as an audio file browser too but it doesn't work very well,

- it's very very very slow
- sometimes, when you import audio in your session it crashes PT
- sometimes when you search, it crashes
- once in a while a session gets corrupted, can't be opened or workspace doesn't want to work (you can't search, you can't index), you have to delete your workspace settings and preferences so that your session can be opened again... then you have to re-index all your volumes...
- you sometimes have to index several times before it gets all your media
- there were bugs where it imported the wrong audio but it's been a while since I heard that one
- you can see your really really small waveforms unlike in ANY (even free) browser app

so every sound editor I work with is relunctant to use the workspace and it would be cool to have something that people want to use because the basics are there! it's like since they know everybody buys better apps (soundminer, basehead, soundly) they don't want to improve it... I understant it is not top priority but it would be nice! :)

Yea, I only use the workspace to search drives for 'clip groups'.....and even then, when i drag from the workspace and drop on the timeline, the clip group doesnt have all its tracks, and i have to delete it, and drag it again from the clip bin......i know its petty, but cmon, its just data. AND the workspace says right in it the number of tracks, yet it wont drag them, or some of them....SoundMiner just mows it down, which is why I say they should just buy it....why wait 5 years and redevelop the wheel?!?!?!
