Default MBOX 2 Driver Issue

Hello,

I am running windows 7 64 bit, and although my installation says is successful, I keep getting this error message:

http://i35.tinypic.com/2hmlbbo.png

Can someone please help me fix this issue so I too can have the joy of using Pro Tools alongside of my other DAWs such as FL Studio, Ableton Live, and Reason?

Thanks in advance!

Which version of Pro Tools are you trying to use?
What are the specs of your computer?

It's kind of difficult with so little information.

Yep. You need 8.0.4, You can download it for free HERE.

You're also going to need a separate physical disk for your Pro Tools sessions, and you are going to want the remove the USB stick when using Pro Tools.

There are probably some other things, but your main problem is that you are trying to run 8.03 on Windows 7 when it isn't compatible. Get 8.0.4 first, follow the installation instructions carefully, and then come back if you have additional problems.

Default Re: MBOX 2 Driver Issue

Yup, been there...done that. A couple times!

Here are a couple tips from someone who just struggled a bit with it:

1) Use the uninstaller bundled with Pro Tools to uninstall the old versions of the application--don't use the Windows uninstaller. The PT one is in the application folder inside Program Files. You may need to manually delete one or two folders that remain, but they are obvious and quite easy to find.

2) Don't power-up the hardware when v8.0 is installed, but wait until told to do so when you run the update installer for v8.0.4.

3) Run the installers as Adminstrator. Just right-click the installer icon on the DVD, or in the update installer's folder, and select the "Run as Administrator" option.

You may well know most of these things, so forgive me for reiterating them if you do. But I spent hours reading the old Windows7 threads, and there are a few issues that no longer seem to apply because 8.0.4 is out. So I only post these to maybe save you a little time.
