Default Is simultaneous use of sp/dif and lightpipe possible?

Hello all and Happy Friday!

I have recently purchased a digital pre-amp (Presonus Digimax) and am using the adat lightpipe to optical into my 001 setup. I would like to use an outboard effects unit (Lexicon MPX1) simultaneously with it. The MPX1 is sp/dif'd in/out of my 001.

I record optically using the Digimax, create an auxilliary stereo track, bus the original track to it, insert sp/difs on aux track and I get an annoying high pitch tone that starts soft and quickly reaches an unbearable level.

Is anyone using both the optical and sp/dif at the same time successfully. If so, what is your hardware set up in LE, what are your track configs, etc.

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments?

I greatly appreciate your time and consideration.

PaulP

My set up:
Intel Pentium III 750mHz Processor
Intel D815EEA Motherboard
ATI 128 16MB AGP DDR Video Card
ATA-100 Controller built-in
256MB 133mHz SDRAM
1.44 3.5" Floppy Drive
40GB Ultra ATA-100 7200rpm Hard Drive
60GB Ultra ATA-100 7200rpm Hard Drive
Mid-Tower Chassis w/Secondary Fan
Windows 98 (Second Edition)

You have a similar setup to mine. To answer your question, you should be able to use all inputs of the digi at the same time.
