Is it possible to replace the
Main Monitor Level Knob with a new one that has a little more control? The playback level is either on 3 or 9! Maybe sometimes I would like to monitor at a 5 or 6. It's either too soft, or too loud. I would rather not use an external device such as a Big Knob, but the Monitor section really blows and is not very True... What about a new Volume Knob? Thanks, Adrian |

I hate it too. What I do is keep the Dim switch engaged and the volume up and down progresses a lot smoother! And when I hit the talkback I can still hear the talent. Hope this helps!

It's not the volume pot, there is a digital matrix going on that is controlled by the pot so changing the pot would not affect the Digital control board. Best thing would be to bypass the monitor section and use something more pro. It's a pity that all the monitoring options are available yet the actual monitoring design is lacking in quality.
Why they cut corners with this is just beyond me, it would not have taken much to make this thing work correctly after all people who are going to be investing in a C24 can probably tell the difference in quality versus iPod/Mp3 Joe Schmos. Anyway I like to have my Central Station remote a little closer so I'm not constantly reaching across the board to adjust functions. I just wish the Central Station had the ability to monitor 5.1 like the C24...but for the price, it's a nice sounding unit. |

I wonder if this is not software related. I have never had this problem. Mine is smooth as a baby's bottom. I have been using high end Superanalogue boards most off my career and find little to no difference. I have heard this complaint before but I have never had it. Did you set the system up correctly? ie 2:O'clock should be about 80-85 db. If you have the system setup where 7:O'Clock is 80db then you will certainly have a problem. But so many folks out there don't understand that, that sometimes what seems so obvious to me isn't so obvious to someone else. Hope this helps. Anything I can do to help

Wow NGNeer I thought this must have been universal among Control 24s. Have you tried running a 1k tone through and turning up the monitor? Very obvious steps then for me.
But if you don't have that... I want to get what you've got!! Let us know please. Cheers, Hammers. |
