Default HP z400 (gen2), mbox pro 3, PT9, win 64 pro

Anyone using this combination?
If yes
did you try connecting mbox via front panel 1394 port?
were you successful?
If no
the only approved 1394 card list I could find dates from PT8/mbox2
are the same cards good for PT9?

Thanks in advance,
/mp

Default Re: HP z400 (gen2), mbox pro 3, PT9, win 64 pro

PT9.0.1 installed. mbox connected to front panel 1394 port. PT doesn't seem to see mbox. analog inputs to mbox loop back to monitors but test recordings have no signal in computer. Same result with adobe soundbooth. Also, PT sample recording plays back through computer's speaker not mbox/monitors.

Thoughts on solution? Driver(s) not set up right? front panel 1394 port not valid with PT? Cheaper to throw a few dollars at an approved PCIE firewire card then muck with drivers for a week but can't find PT9 approved card list in knowledge base. Are all the PT8 approved cards good for PT9?

Default PT9/MBox Pro 3 approved 1394 cards was Re: HP z400 (gen2), mbox pro 3, PT9, etc

The digidesign (pro tools 8) list of approved PCIe firecards is at:
http://www3.digidesign.com/index.cfm...4&itemid=23113

The list is short; there's only one non-discontinued model:
SIIG FireWire 2-Port PCIe
Part Numbers: NN-E20012-S2 (RoHS compliant)

I've searched the DUC and Avid's website but I cannot find a list of approved firewire cards to connect my mbox pro 3 & computer. Should I go with the above PT8 approved card? The DUC's collected wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
/mark

I've used SIIG in the past with good results...
