Is NewEgg still everyone's preferred vendor? (I used to deal with Tiger Direct back in the day, but it's been years). Or Amazon? Or someone else???

I would look at Microcenter first. Usually they'll have the Intel processors at a lower price than Newegg. Other pieces for your build maybe be cheaper at Microcenter or Newegg. TigerDirect prices now seem to be on the high end of prices to me. Also at Microcenter if you buy the processor and motherboard together they'll usually give you a bundle discount.

Just curious, but how many USB ports do you all usually have on your builds? And how many of those are on the front of the tower? I have three on the front of my tower now with 4 in the rear, of which most are USB 3 ports. I'm thinking maybe 4 on the front for dongles and other easier connections such as the A/D interface etc. Thoughts on that?

Also, I have 4 internal HD's now with one external 1tb for my E/W libraries.

In the new system I want all SSDs for the OS, the session drive, the sample drive, and the EW one. If all the SSD's were 1tb, I think I'd have way more than I need. Thoughts? Considerations?

Thanks
