Default Bad Crashing! Please help me!

Yo,

I've been running Protools on Win XP for 2 years and suddenly I have this major problem! Protools keeps crashing on me with the following Message

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

I can be in Protools for about 5 minutes before it crashes.

At first I thought it was only happening on my audio drive... so I reformatted that... but the problem remains. I reinstalled Protools 6.4, but still have the problem.

I've run virus scans, spyware killer, and nothing helps.

I'm in the middle of an extreme deadline project... and I don't know what to do! Somebody help!!!

Its possible that this problem started when another engineer on this project loaded some PT files from a Mac onto this computer. But the files for that song aren't any worse off then the others.

Scott

This may be way off base, but do you have the PC connected to the internet? If you do, do you have have automatic updates enabled? Just wondering if the system updated to SP2. It may be time to do a fresh install of XP and service pack 1. Maybe someone else has better news. If you are near Nashville, I would be happy to help out. If so, drop me an email at albee1952@bellsouth.net
