Default Tracks greyed out opening legacy sessions

Hi, I'm having a problem with opening some legacy sessions - created in 6, then opened in 10 to convert to a format I can open in current PT.

Some tracks will play, and have coloured wave forms, many are on a darker coloured grey background, and have light grey waveforms - these will not play.

All the audio exists, and is in the clip list - indeed I can export the greyed out audio an import it into another DAW fine.

All the IO outputs are the same, and are assigned.

All the tracks are active, none of the clips are muted. There is no midi, only audio.

Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any ideas..

I thought that anything from Pro Tools 5 onwards wold be opened directly with current software.

Try creating a new session and using import session data to restore things.

Thanks for the input. Actually I'm not sure which version was used to create the sessions - from 2002 - but I needed to use 10 to first open them because the audio was all SD2 files. Had to do this in Mavericks too, as otherwise all the resource forks were messed up, and you couldn't even recognise them as audio..

Will try your suggestion.

That does sound vintage with SD2 files! Good luck with the session.

Pro Tools 2022.7 will automatically convert sd2 files when opening a legacy session. No need to go back to PT10.
