Default Instead of subscription to protools I bought the perpetual..

Instead of rebuying subscription to protools let that lapse and bought the perpetual..being that I don't use protools that much but wanted to be able to open up old sessions but did't want to continue paying every year, does that make sense?
The perpetual ends next year with me owning whatever the latest and greatest protools version is at that point.
So any caveats?
Heh seemed like a good idea at the time but wanted to make sure
that I understood all of the ramifications.
thanks!

On Windows, you'll be ok. On Mac, you might want to freeze the OS version.

Thank you! I figured that I wouldn't be getting the "free" extra software each year or support but i've never used that.
I was thinking I'd probably be ok with the latest features as I'm not using many of them anyway as I'm using logic more and more.
I don't mind being locked into an old OS as I am currently using Mojave the most as many software companies aren't even ready for Catalina!
One that I wish would upgrade is Air but oh well they work fine on Mojave.
Just bought a new mac air m1 that should be interesting to see what works on
that,
Peace and thanks!
