5.2 Plug-in: EQ Low Pass Filter
[ 5.2v, 001, G4/733 ]
The EQ Low Pass Filter is only on the Single Band EQ in my plug-ins I was experimenting with cutting a hole in the Bass 60-250Hz for the Kick Drum to come thru. I can use the High Pass for over 250 no prob but the Low Pass doesn't go below 3 kHz Why would the lowest freq selection on an EQ be 3 kHz? Surely a lower range option should be available? Tony |

Re: 5.2 Plug-in: EQ Low Pass Filter
I think you have it backwards.
HiPass cuts the lows - LoPass cuts the highs. |

Thanks for the response I may be wrong but; 2 bass Tracks On the L I set the High pass to 250 Hz to allow only freq above 250 to get thru On the R I "want" a Low Pass filter to allow only freq below 60 to get thru If I read correctly this should give the bass drum a bit more space in the mix? Does this sound more logical? In any case my Low Pass filter setting does not go below 3kHz? I hope I am not misinterpreting something here and sounding silly Thanks Tony |

Re: 5.2 Plug-in: EQ Low Pass Filter
If you have two bass tracks, and HPF 250 off one, *but not the other*, not much is going to happen.
To get what you’re after; try this: Buss the two bass tracks to an aux track - blend them to taste. (make sure they’re both in time) Put the Digi 1-band eq on the aux selecting the peak setting. Pull the gain down, and slide the freq around the low ranges till you hear the kick cut through better. |

Many thanks for your time It sounds like the book advice was misleading although I did think reducing 1 side would halve the amount of Bass using that Freq - never mind The experiment was on the only song where I had 2 Mono tracks. The rest are Stereo so I'll just put the Peak on the Stereo Track and search for the best freq masking result from there Your timely response is most appreciated I can asssure you Tony |
