How to write midi notes all the way up to G10 for BFD
I'm using BFD 3 to put in some grooves. The problem is that the default groove assignments go up to G 10 but I cannot get that high up in the protools midi editor. Am I missing something obvious here?

I don't think G10 exists in Pro Tools or in most other places! There are 128 MIDI notes and the default in PT is C3 = MIDI note 60. G10 would be something like note 151 which doesn't exist!

So the BFD key map is mapping notes outside the standard MIDI protocol? Interestingly enough if I transpose my Motif all the way up I can access the Logie 10 to play the pattern, or groove as it’s referred to in BFD parlance, Unlike strike, BFD drums has a whole bunch of extra articulations assigned to all the notes below C8.

The MIDI spec allows for 128 MIDI notes so I guess it’s where you start counting from! PT will see middle C as C3 or C4 and count that as MIDI note #60 of 128. Where are you seeing G10 in BFD? If it’s to trigger a groove I’m seeing the groove triggers start at C6 going up to G8 or note #127 which would show up in PT.

I think I am going to have to remap the grooves in BFD. I've tried to attach an image of what I am seeing in the BFD keycap window. Currently the Grooves START at C8 and Go to G10

I'm not sure how you've got the grooves starting at C8. As it happens I did a clean installation of BFD3 this week and the default factory mapping has the grooves starting at C6. By default you should be able to trigger everything, drums and grooves from Pro Tools so yes, it would make sense to remap the grooves.
