Question R & B singer and pitch correction

Hey Ducer's, I normally just record hip hop, I recently have a artist who sings as well as spits. My problem is i don't know what note he singing in he's like a choir type vocalist. Is there plugin that would help find the note he singing in, and what would be a great plug in outside of melodydyne to correct the pitch..... I have the Waves Tune and Auto Tunes?

What's wrong with Melodyne? It will show the exact note that is nearest to perfect(in pitch, but maybe not to the actual song key) and you can then drag the blob to the desired note. I suspect the plugins you mentioned are capable of much the same. Its a matter of learning how that particular plugin functions(search youtube for tutorial videos). If its just a single note/word(as opposed to the entire track) you could try Elastic Pitch as well(its hit&miss, but is capable of correcting pitch, its just completely manual).

Waves Tune will do this easily.

The main thing is to make sure the tuning process isn't interfering with the phrasing and conviction of the vocal performance.

Thanx for the advice but even pitch correction couldn't fix this... It was worth a try and good learning experience
