Default new version of falcon crushing pro tools

running the latest falcon now in the latest pro tools. it's useless. I have 3 sounds running in falcon and it crashes pro tools. I have a 12 core 3.33 with 64 meg ram. buffer is as large as it can be. Anyone else have this?

I went back 2.1.7 AAX
Is Falcon real license less of a Hog?
Avid AAX 2.5.3 is the current offering.

What sounds/libraries are you running in Falcon? That makes a huge difference. Some patches in Falcon can really make PT work hard. Something that really helps is to have your Falcon libraries/expansions on an ssd. You don't say what exact Mac you have but the one in my profile page happily runs the latest Falcon (I own it from UVI and not the Avid version) and I can have up to a dozen or so instances of Falcon running.

2.5.3 is the latest version from UVI. Where you get the license from makes NO difference. Again read above.

Full disclosure: when I run Acoustic Samples libraries like their Sunbird Gibson Acoustic guitar and/or their B5 Hammond emulation I run them in VEPro 7. I also decouple VEPro from PT so when PT does it's autosave it's not hung up by Falcon.

Two things that will make your Falcon experience better - run it's libraries off an ssd and also for more than a couple of instances run Falcon in VEpro.
