Default vocal effects

Hi,
Is it possible to apply Xpand2 effects on vocals?
If not, are there any free vocal plugins for pro tools first that have strange and interesting effects for vocals?, the same effects you'd apply to instruments?
Thanks!

No to the first question. Yes, all of them in all the other inserts files, pretty much, to the second question.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm a beginner when it comes to using pro tools first, so please excuse the trivial questions.
On the vocal inserts theres only reverb, chorus, delay but i can't find any distortion or any other interesting sound effects. Are there any free plugins you can recommend?
Thanks!

With Pro Tools First, you can only use the plugins given to you with the program or buy plugins from the Avid Marketplace.

"Buy" so not free.

Don't underestimate the stock plugins, Pro Tools comes with almost everything you need to produce a hit record, some of the names are changed but try Lo-fi or SansAmp PSA 1 for example, those are two awesome distortion boxes.

You could name other of the effect you call interesting and we can tell you under which names you can find them in Pro Tools. Organizing the plugin list by type (this can be done in the preferences page) could help a lot too.

Hi,

I downloaded a SansAmp PSA free plugin but i can't seem to open it on Pro tools first. Would you know why?

Could you please send me links to download free distortion plugins if possible.

I'm working on an experiment and I'd also like to apply synth type of sounds to voice. The type of sounds you'd find on Reaktor software. Can you recommend any plugins for this type of effects?
Thanks!

If you want to use other plugins from other developers (like SansAmp) you need to buy a subscription to full Pro Tools. Pro Tools First is free for a reason; it has many restrictions on what will work with it.

Doesn't SansAmp PSA-1 come bundled with Pro Tools First as well?

No Sansamp comes with Native on up. There are no distortion plugins with free-it has basic eq, comp, delay, dverb and the base audiosuite stuff. To repeat what has been previously stated ONLY plugins that you purchase/rent through avid and avid partners will work/load in PT Free. NOTE: I haven't done it so you'll have to check for yourself but you should be able to do an "In app purchase" through pro tools itself to "rent" plugins by the month to try out. PT free wont recognize non avid partner plugins EVEN IF YOU PURCHASED THEM AFAIK. I have PT Native with hundreds of plugins but if I open PT First on the same machine it will not open any of my non avid/partner plugins(Waves, Soundtoys , etc).
