Tracks Stuck as Hidden in Edit Window only?!

Hello DUC:

Right in the middle of a session, (2) video tracks and (1) audio track were hidden in the edit window, but not the mix window. The single audio track appeared in the mix window, and on the control surface, but not the edit window. No amount of toggling the show/hide buttons, show all/hide all would bring it back.

Importing all tracks to a new session revealed the same problem. Duplicating and splitting into mono made tracks that exhibited the same problem.

We gave up and created new tracks and reimported the raw audio and video media. Frustrating. If it happens again with a track that has a complex EDL, we're in trouble. Any ideas?

Hi Nathaniel,

Try the application www.jcdeshaies.com and trash your prefs and databases. that might bring everything back. The free application I mentioned was written by someone at Digidesign and it works fast and great for most problems of this sort.

HI I had the same problem, fixed by selecting all (in the groups) then holding down the option key, resize the tracks. Some how the tracks must have lost their size.

I'd tell you to try the same thing that I suggested in the previous post. Gp to the beginning of this forum and download that preference fixer. It's usually the top post in the Digi section.
