Default Lost Virtual Soundcheck Connection

I am having an issue with my Venue Profile rig. I have the latest version of Pro Tools 10 and Venue software. I have been using them for virtual sound checks consistently with few issues. Recently while doing a virtual sound check, we took a lightening strike. The system is on an isolated technical ground, so I am fairly certain that we didn't have any electrical damage. However, the power went out, the computer shut off, and the console stayed on because of a battery backup. When we brought the system back up, we could no longer select Virtual Soundcheck in PT when creating a new session, nor do markers show up in PT when changing snapshots. When I go to the Options/Dialog page, the line connecting the FOH rack device list to the computer is flashing with a red dashed line on it.

Does anyone have experience with this and how to repair it?

Thanks for the help.

Maybe your VENUE Link has been lost. This happened to me once before and I still don't know what caused it.

The instructions are located on page 45 of the Live Recording Guide:

http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...uide_69790.pdf

All I had to do was go into Pro Tools and go to the "Setup/Peripherals" menu. Go to the VENUE tab, and your Venue should appear in the list. If it doesn't, enter the IP address of the Venue and it should all work...

Hi Rocky,

What you describe indicates the VENUE Link connection is not present. Check the instructions per the user guide, as n8white suggests.

Also, check all of the hardware involved, given the lightening strike incident. Check that Ethernet ports are still active and work, ethernet routers (if in use) are still working, etc. The easiest way to do this is to plug your console and computer into a router and see if they get an IP address....

Thank you guys! That was very helpful. It was a combination of settings in Pro-Tools and Venue. The advanced network settings in Pro-Tools were off and the DCHP settings in the Venue had been turned off, but we are up and running now!
