I noticed that I was also having pops while recording when I had the 192i/o connected on the first HD card. I fixed it by connecting the Digi cable coming from FOH to the first three HD cards and the 192i/o to last the one. I tried a couple of other things but this fixed it. I'm using Sync to provide clock as well and it works better!

The 192i/o must be word clocked to the VENUE system regardless of whether it's connected to the first or last Pro Tools card. If not, pops will occur. Also, it doesn't matter whether the 192i/o is connected to the first or last card in the Pro Tools computer, as both configurations are fully tested and qualified.

The tracks are being monitored back through the Venue console. All i have is a HD2 system attached to the Venue system with no external interfaces.

I did try splitting out the tracks and that had no effect at all on it. I read on the forums here that someone was having a similar issue which they had pegged to the onboard SATA controller so thats what i'm hoping is the issue. I'll be able to tell if that is the issue after tonight.

Well using the IDE controller didn't help. I guess the next thing to try is a hyperfast raid array. I'm at a loss for what this could be.
