Default Waves API demo. thoughts and clever demo trick!

Hi,

Just demod the Waves API bundle...

Love the compressor 9/10 for me and if i hadn't just bought the PSPMastercomp for 2-bus apps then i would definately be lusting for it. I might or would buy it if it was available seperately.

The EQ's are sounding great as one would expect! but the control surface operating is a bit strange and not as intuitive as i would have liked. having to turn the control surface pot left to move the EQ right was a bit weird and unintuitive. but i also found it restrictive having 2db steps on the cut/boost, sometimes found 2db to be too much or too little and would have liked 1/2 db increments (now someone's going to tell me it does this!!)

I've been busy and didn't have loads of time to test them? BUT the demo ran out yesterday and the clever trick with this demo is that they have now completely dissapeared from the plugins list!!!

*love the compressor
*like the sound of the EQ's but a bit fiddly from a control surface
*clever how the demo evaporates from the plugins list after the 7 day period.

These EQs replicate the hardware, which also has fixed frequencies and gain settings (making them easily "undoable"). Any "in between" values would not be accurate to the hardware design, which is why this isn't an option.

These EQs replicate the hardware,
The hardware doesn't have an output control of + - 18db or a polarity switch! so they could have given the option of finer control

Why have just the piano player when you could have the whole orchestra

That's what Chandler did very well with the limiter, they just added a 2005 version as well.

They could just make it a selectable option...so we could get 1/2 db increments.

But these really sound great! I wonder how the URS channelstrip pro holds up to these...

Exactly, if they want to make it true to the hardware then give us a modelled API 5500
