Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
AVID just informed me that there will be a Firmware Tweak on the coming Eucon Update which will significantly improve fader performance.

Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
Same behaviour here, touching a fader on S1 writes volume automation in Protools somewhere between -0.5 and -0.9… just forget using faders without having to thin automation manually…
A fix would really be appreciated. Thanks!! Last edited by cablenaute; 02-10-2020 at 01:19 AM. |

Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
Had the first test with Eucon 20.1.0.50.
The fine adjustment of the fader movement is much better. Faders changing level on touch is marginally better than before. The faders still re-adjust as before but Instead of up to +/- 1db differences, they only move +/- .1 to .5 db So, no the Eucon update and S1 firmware update didn’t quite fix it. |

Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but the lack of fader calibration is still a problem. I'm running the latest firmware and I have several faders on my S1 that don't match zero. It definitely is frustrating. Has there been any progress on this issue?

Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
This is not a matter of calibration but just the way the IC controller and faders behave. You have to go to much more expensive IC controllers and faders to achieve better positioning. The Artist Mix had the same issue as does the new SSL controller (look at their promotional videos). You are moving a fader via a simple motor and rubber band at high speed, the code to get this as close to the correct position is very complex. If it were a stepper motor(way to big) then it would be easy. That said we are currently looking at the S1 fader firmware to see if we can make any improvements.

Re: Is there way to calibrate the S1 faders?
Is this how the old command 8 worked? I don’t ever recall having any issues with it. Thanks for the information regarding how the faders work.
