Default MTRX Studio Setup Which First?

Hey Folks,

I have watched several tutorials but I am not clear what to setup first. I have a MTRX Studio hopefully coming today. No HDX card or interface. Also, I could not bring myself to buy the pricey TB3 card.

So, that gives us DVS and it's Controller, DADMan and its Controller, and the MTRX Studio. What do I do first software wise? I realize I need to network it to the Mac Pro and being an IT guy I think I can handle that:-) Then what?

Hope y'all well and good,
Robert

Hi Robert!
If this is brand new, First thing to do is to register your MTRX Studio at https://www.avid.com/avid-audio-product-registration
once registered and activated, you'll be guided through the pages along the way and a getting started guide will be available inside your my.avid.com/products#Myproducts page

Right, should have mentioned the registration part.

Don't think the Avid guide covers my situation, I have looked at it and believe it could use some work.

Thanks for your reply,
Robert

I would highly recommend the TB3 card if that might still be in your consideration. It really does simplify things and gives you:

(A) Respectable throughput latency
(B) Automatic communication / management to MTRX Device for DADman
(C) A very simple way to funnel audio in and out of host software applications

..with that said, if you want to stay the course on DVS, you will need to proceed with the following:

Install Dante Virtual Soundcard
Install Dante Controller
Install a current (5.7) version of DADman
Verify your MTRX Studio is up to date with Firmware (1.1.3.1)
Choose the number of audio channels in DVS and Sample Rate
Set your system audio to be DVS

Bone up on Dante Controller and IP Audio basics.

best,

Jeff

Following after Jeff's steps:

In Dante Controller, patch your DVS i/o to the MTRX dante i/o. You do this in Dante Controller.

Then go to DADman, and follow the Avid videos on how to set up a monitor section in DADman (with your source being the Dante inputs in DADman)

You have to do both otherwise the signal will not go from computer to speakers.

Good detail, thanks. Now if FEDEX would bring it to me I could get on with it:-)
