Default Native Instruments weirdness

Hey there
My system is Mac Pro 2.66, 2GB Ram, Protools 7.3.1

I have Komplete 4 by NI.

My problem: Let's say I have Akoustik Piano loaded (the same applies to Kontakt 2 and Battery 3 and maybe others). I have a sound loaded and it plays just fine. Then I want to change the patch, new samples are loaded. Once it's ready I start playing and all of a sudden I have a latency of about 3 SECONDS. Every note I play will sound, but WAY late. Remedy: Inactivate the plug in, then reactivate it (which means the samples get loaded again), then it's fine. Sometimes, if I load a patch, a separate NI plug in will give me the extra latency until either of them are inactive/active again.

The reason I post this here is that I contacted NI and they said to contact Digi, because it might be a problem on their part.

Anybody seen this behaviour?

Thanks

I have the same problem with NI Komplete 4, it also happens with Battery 3 and Elektric Piano actually. De-activate/re-activate the plugin and it works fine again. No idea what the problem can be.

Same problem here, and using the same workaround.

Bouncing RTAS Native Instruments to audio tracks as soon and as often as possible has become my working method of late.

NI & Digi need a task team that wants to work together.
NI have lame (no blame) responsiveness to Pro Tools issues (and Digi probably holds back some coding tricks).
Eventually we either leave Pro Tools and or Native Instruments for stable tools that match our needs.

P.S. I did resolve some NI problems by cleaning up DFD items in their (NI) application support folder.

Also 1 or half CPU in PT's engine

Instead of re-inserting the plug, try just going to the playback buffer setting. Move it away from the setting you want, then back again. That usually fixes this type of trouble for me. I've seen this behaviour with other RTAS instruments as well.

i have the same latency problems everybody is talking about, in my case mostly with akoustik piano so far. i wish digi and ni could get their act together, but i guess digi has no need to do so now that they have their own a.i.r. group which they continually tout as "stable and reliable, specifically built for pro tools!" etc etc...

I've seen the exact same behavior with the latest BFD.

The brand-new Korg Mono/Poly (great simulation!) gives me aforementioned headache all the time...

No problem with Cubase or Logic, though.

We definitely work with NI to assure that plug-ins are working correctly.

We've seen this happen a couple times and, for now, the solution seems to be to make sure that you have a valid analog input selected on the track with the plug-in.

If this does not work for you, please let us know.

We're investigating the cause of the issue currently.
