Default Re: working with triggers

Have not used them myself, but I would imagine it is close to this:

Triggers run into a central brain that enables the sounds. That then is piped into PT via MIDI plug. You would then need to create a MIDI track and assign the input to the appropriate MIDI output that is coming fron that BRAIN. It should then register the MIDI hits when the triggers are hit. I was going to do this setup, but learned that you needed to buy a drum or sound bank that would allow the sounds. There may be other ways, but that is how I understand it works. It will creat individual MIDI hits and the data is stored as MIDI data.

Hope that this is right and that it may help????

Once you have the MIDI events from the triggers in a PT MIDI track, you can use Reason or SampleTank (or other things) to actually produce the sound.
