PT 8 software transfer from HD to HD question
My backup editing station uses PT8 on a 2010 Macbook Pro laptop (OS 10.7).
The laptop suddenly stopped powering up (PT audio files are backed up). Folks at the Apple store couldn't help, but suggested that internal HD be removed for possible transfer of PT8 to my similar vintage iMac. Would anyone here know if that's possible? Or, would Avid still have a copy of my PT8 that I could download? Thank you.

Swapping the hard drive into a similar MacBook may very well go smoothly. Fingers crossed.
If you have PT8 registered in your Avid account, it should still be there to download. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In addition, if you have access to your authorization code(the one starting with DIGI008.....), then you can re-authorize a fresh install of LE 8 on any Mac of that era and OS. Though you have no idea what you are missing out on by staying in that "vintage"
