BLACK FRIDAY SALE
To be honest I dont usually have a Black Friday sale... but I appreciate we are not living through normal times, and we all have to make our $$$ go as far as possible.... So all 169 HISSandaROAR SFX Libraries are on sale until Monday, with 33% discount. Please use discount code BFF33 at checkout https://hissandaroar.com/v3/all-sounds/ SD070 REVOLVE https://hissandaroar.com/v3/soundlibrary/sd070-revolve/ 33% Intro Discount available until Dec 8th Check MAKING OF vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmQQinYsIKo REVOLVE has required a deep dive into using turntables to generate machine rhythms & friction gestures, using a classic Technics SL1200 and a Vestax PD2000 with a collection of textured objects. The Vestax proved especially invaluable as it has ultra pitch +/-50% plus adjustable start acceleration and braking, as well as reverse! Originally inspired by Graham Dunnings ‘mechanical techno’ I have pursued friction based sound generation, with contact mics attached to cardboard and plastic which acts as a stylus – amplifying the form of the object as it revolves… Objects include two gongs, a ribbed plastic rubbish bin, a glass bowl, metal dish, multi level serving tray, wheel rim, cake mixer bowl, two waterphones, a paella pan, gaffer tape, a plastic colander, two fan safety covers, two sprockets and some leftover parts from the Tortured Dryer sessions. Centering the object creates fairly consistent rhythms but two tactics led to some off kilter patterns: asymmetrical objects, and placing the object slightly off centre. Recorded 32bit 192kHz using a pair of Trance Audio Contact Mics this new library is now released 24bit 96kHz with full UCS metadata & photos. This library contains some unique textures, rhythmic noise and gestural friction which due to noise content respond well to processing… |

HISSandaROAR SD071 SPRING IMPACTS
An awesome collection of hits & impacts - check the Making Of vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ5C4XvrdeY https://hissandaroar.com/v3/soundlib...pring-impacts/ 33% Discount available until Feb 1st I spent over three years collecting springs, and then mounting each spring in a way that it could freely resonate under tension. The first output from the collection was the Impulse Response library: IR005 SPRINGS Over the last four months I have been recording the spring collection and am both excited & relieved to finish & release this new library of SPRING IMPACT sounds, which explores a range of percussive hits. The springs range from very short small diameter (130mm x 15mm) through to very long (2800mm x20mm) with decay up to 25 seconds. Hits were performed with hard mallet: full free sustain, then damped, and then very damped – the latter providing meaty solid metal impacts. To add interesting pitch, I also captured hits with a metal bridge attached to the spring. These work almost like a tongue drum – the ‘prongs’ generating pitch, which is transmitted into the spring. Struck with a hard mallet they ring out beautifully, but struck with a soft mallet they instantly created unique subtle stings. In a few cases (the huge auger springs, thunder drum) I also captured handling, movement and some friction moves – the auger with threaded rods woven through them, sounds massive when wrangled! These are very useful, powerful sounds applicable to elements of practical effects but equally applicable for designed sounds, stings & impacts as well as musical percussive elements. Captured 192kHz 32bit with a pair of Trance Audio Arcturus Contact Mics, every setup was a challenge to cleanly capture the vibrations without dampening resonance, while avoiding buzzy rattles. Released 24 bit 96kHz with photos of each setup and full UCS metadata. |

Luftrausch | Framed Rhythms and Particles
We have just released two new sound packs: Framed Rhythms captures the sounds of a very special collection of natural skin frame drums, each with its own distinct character and timbre - offering a wide variety of playing styles and rhythmic patterns in loops and single/one shots. Framed Particles is a sound effects mini-pack featuring organic drones, cymbal swells, brush sounds, deep and lush drum hits, modulated bell sounds and glass and metal textures. Both sound packs can be purchased individually or together as a bundle. Use 'framed_earlyaccess' at checkout for an additional 20% discount for the next 2 weeks.
