Default Pro Tools 12.5.2 (!) Installer causes kernel panic and reboot of Mac Pro towards end
Upon attempting to install this newly released version of Pro Tools on to a Mac Pro 5,1, upgrading from 12.4 with a HDX card inside, the computer experienced a kernel panic towards the end of it process which prompted a restart, and most likely an incomplete installation.

Trying again now, but it looks like 12.5.2 may potentially not be ready for prime time.

EDIT: 2nd installation attempt worked. Still though.. Stealth release of Pro Tools 12.5.2!!

If 12.5.2 is out, it's certainly out only for Beta testers. Since your second install worked, not quite sure what the point of your post is? There is no 12.5.2 out for the general public yet...

Hi Tim , I just checked and I currently have 12.5.2 sitting in my account (ie; NON beta) , I'm guessing it is by now in your account also

12.5.2 in my account. Is there any fix list yet? Hopefully the 9173 errors are fixed.

No fix list yet, only a "known issues" document and holy crap is it huge!

Obviously most of the issues listed aren't new but honestly when do they plan on starting to fix them?!

Pro Tools 12.5.2 was released today since we had a few fixes for audio problems on HDX ready to go as well as workflow enhancements for S6. See the Pro Tools 12.5.2 Release Notes for complete details.

Back on topic for this thread...

Has anyone else experienced a kernal panic when installing 12.5.2?

meanwhile my account still shows 12.4...

this was supposed to be fixed weeks ago, but all I got were confusing emails from the support..
