ProTools AV and Avid Unity
Hello,
We have two ProTools (24 and 24 Mix)on G4 with the AV XL option. We also have four Avid Media Composer running on an Avid Unity server. One of our ProTools has the fiberchannel card installed, and we can exchange files with the Unity. I wonder if it would be possible to work a session in ProTools with the audiofiles being on local drives, but the video on the Unity (in order to avoid long files exchange)? Unfortunately, as of now, it won't work. I tried it just the other day inadvertantly and I got the tapping fingers of death as it tried to play the video from Unity. We should have Unity support very soon. Jon Connolly Digidesign Product Specialist
