Default nice beach atmos...

Hey all,

I am dubbing a surf doc with much of the interviews taking place on or near the beach. Any tips other then x-noise or BNR that can make these interviews cleaner?

Peace.

Waves C4 as well if you've got it. Try the "4 Band Noise Reduction" preset and tweak to taste. But Phillip is right -this is where the Dolby and Cedar boxes earn their pay. If you're thinking of dropping $ on plugs, consider searching for one of those boxes used. We got our Cedar from auction for just a little more than another Waves license - and you don't get WUP'ed!

Don't forget to add a decent amount of surf/beach backgrounds as fill after the noise reduction. None of these solutions will get rid of all the noise. Waves crashing has a very wide frequency response and will be difficult to remove. Your best bet is to use the Multidynamics plug, then Cedar as much as possible and then add more surf bg that can be controlled by you.

Thanks everybody. I remember the mixer on riding giants using C4 on a lot of the interview material as well. I'll demo it, anyone have luck with the oxford restoration bundle?

Peace.
