Anyone Running Ableton Live on HDN Hardware?

I'm collaborating on a project where Abelton is the DAW of choice. I have HDN. Is anyone using this with HDN? Any issues?

We have only tested the HDX and HD Native Thunderbolt, with Avid Audio interfaces. We recommend reaching out to Abelton Technical Support for more information about this.

The question was not about interface hardware. And Abelton does not make any Digilink interfaces, and I doubt the OP meant the CoreAudio interface in Abelton Push, they just meant using the Abelton Live DAW with HDN CoreAudio support.

I'm not sure why folks are worried about this. If the HD Driver works and you see the interfaces in AudioMIDI Setup then CoreAudio stuff should work. Just try it. The challenge is all with the HD Driver and it's known issues, inclduing AvidAudioServer misbehaving at times, the need for the correct Thunderbolt expansion dock, etc. but if you have gotten past that to CoreAudio seeing the Digilink interface(s) then you should be set. Nothing here really specific to Abelton

Ableton Live does have a very ragged history when it comes to Avid's coreaudio drivers. It was basically unusable for years here. I haven't even bothered trying to use it for 4 or 5 years. Last I heard (way back in 2020), Ableton had acknowledged the existence of a bug... but also gave zero indication when or if it would ever be fixed.

It may have well been addressed by ableton in recent releases. I haven’t tried it in years, mainly due to the unexpected benefit of being able to keep Ableton and ProTools open at the same time thanks to a second sound card.

The issue was bigger than just sample rate stuff. It was totally unusable and wouldn’t ever play audio.
