Default Cubase 5 64-bit

Whow!!!
I just read on the Sonicstate website Cubase 5 will be released in Feb 2009 with full Windows Vista 64-bit support with up to 1 terabyte of RAM.
I think Digi really has to dig deeper into their problem for the 64-bit support, especially because of the new PT8 release with no 64-bit support.
Looks like Steinberg is trying to take the lead in the bussiness.

Default Re: Cubase 5 64-bit

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Cubase 5 or switch to PT8. From 4, 5 has the VST Expression (great for orchestral work), a new convolution reverb, VariAudio pitch correction, and as you mentioned, 64-bit.

PT has elastic audio and a lot of other nice things. I used to have PT m-powered 7.3, but sold it and bought Cubase. PT8 seems to have addressed my concerns with PT. I'd need to buy a convolution reverb and pitch correction software to match C5, but it seems like a bad idea to buy based on included effects. (PT doesn't come with a convolution reverb does it?) I'm not sure how much I'd use the VST Expression feature, but that's the mystery of new type features.

Oh, one other PT negative is Native Instruments compatibility, though I'm sure it will be remedied over time.

Any advice appreciated.

as long as 64bit drivers are a rare oder beta-thing, it doesn´t hurt to miss it in pt8. i tried different programs on xp64 and vista64 and the "improvement" of more ram, was zero.
