Trying to re-install PT 8.0.3 on our new mac.. help?
Hello all,
We've been using PTLE for years. We've just downloaded upgrades as we progressed over time. Well, yesterday, our beloved Mac Pro kicked the bucket. So, I went out and picked up a new one. The new one is all set to run Lion, so I don't want to restore from a time machine backup (the last system was on Snow Leopard). So, I'm trying to get PT 8.0.0 running on this new machine. I used an instal disk from an MBox 2 system that we have on another computer, but I don't have our authorization key anymore from the system on the computer that crashed, so I can't re-authorize this installation with that info. The authorization key that I do have is from the other computer we run protools on (also 8.0.3 running on Lion). Any ideas? I tried pulling over just the digidesign folder from our old time machine backup and then running the Lion update for it, but no dice. Any direction? Thanks! -jon |

No version of Pro Tools 8 is compatible with any version of Lion.

I'll check out that link. Thanks.
Currently, we are using 8.0.3 with lion using the patch found here, on a macbook pro: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=304965 **edit, I just saw that links to an SE page... interesting. That's what we downloaded and ran, and it works for our LE system that is being used with an MBox2. SE is for m-powered right?** Last edited by jrm; 06-18-2012 at 10:23 AM. Reason: a |

HI, you have to use 8.0.5 to run with Lion Though it is not officially supported, there are a number of us using 8 with Lion. But we are all on 8.0.5
