Default Windows power plan mode

Is it possible to stop Pro Tools from forcing the Windows power plan into max performance at startup?

I was not under the impression that Pro Tools did anything to your power preferences when you boot. That being said, you’re best off to have everything “on.” No sleep, or shutting off hard drives or monitors. Just ON.

Agree with all of this. Setting power plan to best performance is what you should be doing anyway(in addition to the "everything on" advice, no sleep, no hibernate, no drive spin-down and no monitor blank or screensaver)

It's not at Windows boot. Pro Tools forces the Windows power plan into high performance mode when Pro Tools is launched. I realize a heavy session may perform better with the CPU running at it's maximum core frequency constantly, but for lighter sessions I think a current generation CPU should easily run a session in balanced mode and use less CPU power.

I'll respectfully disagree. I want all the power I can get at all times
