No signal from my Korg microkey37 anymore?
Hey guys,
I booted up Pro Tools 12 a few weeks ago and randomly received this error message: "Pro Tools is unable to communicate with M-Audio Keyboard. Power-Cycle M-Audio Keyboard and check its connections. Note, if M-Audio Keyboard is not in use, update the Peripherals dialog to prevent further warnings." Ever since then I cannot get Pro Tools to pick up a signal from my Korg microkey37 no matter what I do. The keyboard works with Reason so it's not the hardware. - I'm running OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 - Pro Tools 12.1.0 - MBox Mini2 I've seemingly tried everything I've seen on other forums but nothings working, it's driving me nuts. Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated. Thanks guys! -M Last edited by moyno85; 09-09-2015 at 02:47 AM. |

Re: PT12 stopped recognising MIDI keyboard
Can any of the steps in this article help you?

Re: No signal from my Korg microkey37 anymore?
Hey, thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately that was one of the first sites I came across - tried it all, nothing worked. Still getting the error message: "Pro Tools is unable to communicate with M-Audio Keyboard. Power-Cycle M-Audio Keyboard and check its connections. Note, if M-Audio Keyboard is not in use, update the Peripherals dialog to prevent further warnings." Found this post from 4 years ago with the exact same problem I'm having and there still doesn't seem to be any solution: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=303207 I'm out of ideas. About to accept that I just wasted AUD$1000 on Pro Tools... |

Re: No signal from my Korg microkey37 anymore?
What if you turn on the power while holding down the OCTAVE DOWN/OCTAVE UP buttons? This procedure restores the factory settings.

Just gave the factory reset a go - keyboard still isn't being picked up.
Thanks for trying though. I'm really stumped by this one.. |

Re: No signal from my Korg microkey37 anymore?
And you have the latest driver installed? I know you said it works with Reason, but I'm running low on ideas.

Some food for thought though. My controller is relatively plug and play and I don't need to set it up in the peripherals page. In fact, the last midi device I had to set up in peripherals was a command 8. All my keyboard controllers never needed a set up. I imagine I got it working after deleting a pref or a restart, as in pt12hd I have found sometimes random things just stop working as expected. Like when that odd sideways hand appears when holding control to move a region.

Is it weird that PT says it can't detect M-audio keyboard despite it being a Korg...? |

It's odd that this just randomly started happening. It was working initially. |

Re: No signal from my Korg microkey37 anymore?
If you go to Setup (menu) > Peripherals > MIDI Controllers tab... is anything selected there?
