When did this forum become a place to bash other bands? I thought this was a place of compassion and understanding with fellow musicians and engineers.

Why not go to myspace or facebook and give your opinions about other peoples music there? or your tweety pages?

Who cares what other people use to record, because if it's crap going in..it's crap coming out, regardless of your opinion.

I can't say that I've abandoned Pro Tools or anything
Seems like those statements are a little at odds.

I'm not sure what the point is with this thread - if you don't think we're aware of our shortcomings or that we're not doing something about them, you're mistaken. Yes, things take longer than we all would like, but we're talking about some major undertakings here.

You may not agree with our business practices, such as limiting IO in LE, and that's your opinion. LE continues to be extremely successful, so we must be doing something right.

And, FWIW, I use Logic, too. The thing is - there's a variety of tools out there, so just pick the one that does the job for you. I happen to like Logic for certain things (and yes, I've been, and will continue to, actively promote integration of new and better features into Pro Tools.). So what? It's just a tool. The beauty of this is you have a choice - and, given how much you like to slag us, but you still use Pro Tools says quite a lot.

The title of this thread is totally misleading.

1. The quote posted is not a quote from Coldplay.
2. The guy talking specifically says he's not abanoning Pro Tools.

In other words, both "Coldplay" and "abandons Pro Tools" are 100% wrong.

I agree with Cakes. topic has nothing to do with coldplay, them being recorded in pt or the fellow in question using it.

But I MUST APPLAUDE Digitech Support for giving a reply in this thread.
You guys are always great at answering "help me!!!!"- threads, but whenever we turn any thread into a "bitching about the shortcommings of PT"- thread, you always seem to ignore it. It always feels good to hear that you are in fact listening to the bitching and moaning and taking it into account.

I for one think Digi rocks, the software keeps getting better and better, and I would prefer improved stability and early compatability with Snow Leopard, (grand central - will it do wonders for LE and MP?) before ADC or higher track counts.

Getting the code to run more smoothly on less powerful intel macs means more than 200+ tracks...

This note was for the execs, who I hope understand that in marketing, perception isn't just more important than reality, it is reality.

You can't mistreat your customers very long and get away with it. The market interprets gouging as damage and routes around it.

Peppertree,

Please stop making death threats against Digidesign management!

(Sorry, did I just totally distort what you said? It was my perception)

Pepper you live in an alternative universe than the rest of us. Obviously your constant winging whenever the opportunity (or none as this case may by) arises, shows an unhealthy obsession on your part at axe grinding. If you somehow feel slighted, aggrieved or hurt by Avid then just get over it.

Get some counselling or something, the courtesy of a reply from DTS is more than your deserve and most of us stayed with this thread so that we could poke harmless fun at Mr Martin et al!
