I'd like to be able to hide tracks in the Edit window, but still have them available in the Mix window. There must be a way to do this, and am wondering if anyone can clue me in...
Thanks. |

Not as far as I know. Unless they added it as a new feature in 8.x. Probably not. Would be handy.

I would guess that ultra-minimizing the track height is your best option here.

I try to keep only the tracks I'm working on in view whilst editing.. Highlight all of the tracks you want to see, hold ALT-SHIFT (is that Option-Shift for Mac?), and select FIT TO WINDOW.. This places the non essential tracks outside of view.. When I finish with a track I even sometimes set them to Block mode just to not be distracted by them. It's all in what you want though... For me, adding folders to the regions window, and maybe even the tracks themselves would be a great improvement.. if we're asking that is.. ![]()

You should explore Memory Locations, and in particular Show/Hide and Track Heights.

I was pretty shure that you could show/hide independently in the two windows before. PT 5 or 6. I never worked on 7.
I was out of it for a few years, so when I got back in with PT8 I was disappointed to see this. In a dual screen setup this is pretty basic. Anyone else remember it like this?

Don't think so. I've used it continuously since version 3.1 and I don't remember it ever being an option.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember such function. Imo it would create serious chaos...
