upgrade to HD versions of plugins (from Mix) is not Free?

I heard a rumour that the upgrade to HD versions of plugins (from Mix) is not Free

Does anyone know if that is true?

I have d2, d3, d-verb, amp-farm, drawmer, virus (i.e. the mixpack from 2 years ago)

HD compatible upgrades of Digidesign plugins are free. Some Third party developers are charging small fees for the upgrade of their plugins to help cover their engineering costs.

Check the plugin compatibility section of the Digidesign website for more info. Also see the website (or call them) of any Third Party plugins you may have for more info.

Can anyone verify this?

(He said that all the plugins I listed above were -distributed)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">D-Verb is an actual Digidesign plug-in (not Digi-distributed), and does not utilize copy protection on Pro Tools|HD. It's now a standard DigiRack plug-in.

The other plug-ins you mentioned are Digi-distributed, and as a registered owner of them you will be provided with updated versions at no charge.
