Protools LE 7.0 not recognizing Command 8

Im having some troubles getting a command 8 to talk to my protools LE system. Im running a digi 002 rack and i have plugged in a command into my computer thinking it would just work. I tried getting the command 8 to read through my peripherals and my midi controllers and it did start to work a little bit, but a message would come up every 15 seconds saying it could not read the command 8. soooo, i read the command 8 manual and it says you have to install the command 8 software so i put in my protools installer discs but i couldnt find the option to install software for a command 8. so now im completely lost, if anybody has any suggestions or if youve ever run into the same problem any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

hi.open pro tools go to setup/peripherals choose midi controllers there choose command8.that should do it.good luck

I am having exactly the same problem. I tried Petvi's fix but it didn't work. Altogether a complete pain!!

Did you try trashing your pref's?
Do you have any MIDI devices attached to the C8?
What is your C8's firmware number?
What other USB devices other than the C8 do you have attached?
What connection did you select for you C8 when you set it up?
PT installs the C8 profile when you install the newer versions automatically and once you connect the C8 and select it as a controller with the correct MIDI connect it should start automatically.
