Dear People at Avid,

I know you read this thread, just like I do. Although I'm more of a regular reader than a poster here. Just wanted to let you know I'm really investigating competitors.

Although I have a Ultimate perpetual with HDX hardware, nothing much changes for me as I understand. My yearly fee stays the same (as my feauture set, that aside)

I'm a rather small facility with decent hardware, always looking for stable partnerships with my suppliers. The seemingly random parcours of the Pro Tools roadmap from the last years really doesn't create lots of trust.

I'm at the point of switching the studio completely to Dante, and almoste bite the bullet for a MTRX Studio. I must say Nuendo with an rme interface and direct monitoring through a mixing desk looks like an even more beautiful setup then a week ago.

The price I pay for a new Nuendo + decent RME interface is comparable or even less then a MTRX Studio. No subscription, no dongle and not tied to hardware.

My support plan ends in December. I think I postpone my purchase of extra dante hardware. December is plenty of time to investigate other options.

I do this all the time too! I don't even know what shortcut I'm accidentally pressing. Please tell me so I can delete it!

Usually Command-P isn't it? Turning on Auto-spot Clips.

It's the Y-Key (on the US and other Keyboards. Z on the German one) (snap start to TC). It's to spot a clip to incoming external TC. Back in the ancient days when PT ran picture from a 9-pin-controlled BetaCam machine. So since your incoming TC is zero the clip will always fly to the earliest point of the timeline.

You can also patch a cable from the SYNC HD TC out to its TC-IN so that the incoming TC is always the one that's currently playing. Just activate LTC generate for that.

Obviously deactivating the shortcut would be easier than buying a SYNC HD just for this ;-)

I'd add "E" to the black list. Never understood why the entire timeline jumps to a random zoom level and timeline view when turning E off.
